Tamar Shirinian

Tamar Shirinian is currently a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the Co-Director of Women's and Gender Studies at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. Her current book project, Survival of a Perverse Nation: Queer Transformations in Postsocialist Armenia, investigates the widespread rhetorics of sexual and moral "perversion" in everyday life. She is currently editing a special issue of Armenian Review entitled "Queering Armenian Studies." Other forthcoming articles explore a wide array of issues, such as postsocialist queer life-worlds, post-Cold War geopolitics, and the links between political-economy, kinship, and sexuality.
