Research interests: the recent history of Georgia, gender studies (topic: national/informal movements of Georgia and the Soviet Union, matters related to women in XIX – XX Georgian printed press).

Biography: Ana Bakanidze has 10-years of working experience in public and non-governmental institutions; she has served as public relations manager of various state intuitions working in the field of education and youth policy. Currently, Ms. Bakanidze works as public relations coordinator, at the LEPL International Education Center under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia; as well as researcher at the National Center of Manuscripts. Meanwhile she is PhD student in Humanities at the Sokhumi State University. She has successfully undertaken numerous academic scholarships and has delivered academic speeches at the universities of Prague, Vienna, as well as Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She has published dozens of academic papers and is an author of 5 scholar publications/books.
