Elena Duduchava is an artist. She mainly works in the medium of photography and video, however, her works often feature artistic text as one of the main aspects of the project.
Elene often uses personal experiences and observations to talk about social contexts and politics. She is interested in and researches gender, care, relationships, memory, migration, grief, anger, and the diversity or complexity of human emotions. Her recent works can be considered as an example of visual anthropology.
Elene was born in 1997 in Tbilisi. In 2015, she finished her studies at Ilia State University and received a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. She participated in various residencies and exhibitions, such as the Tbilisi Photo Festival/TPMM Long-term Mentorship Program & Production Grant for South Caucasian Women Photographers; Fungus Gallery group exhibition “Queer portraits”; Festival Dos Canais - Aveiro Portugal (Like the cat I have nine times to die); Group exhibition “On the Edge of Masculinity and Femininity”; Imagine Stories/Caucasus Edition - Migration Portraits; and others. In 2022 she moved to Berlin to engage in care work. After one year and two months, she moved back to her hometown.
