Women’s history research

(closed project) The project aims to support initiative '50 women of Georgia' and promote herstory research.  

1872-1922 / Poet / Philanthropist. Aneta Dadeshkeliani wrote poems and published them in the contemporary press. She was in involved in the work of the Society for the Spreading of Literacy among Georgians and took part in their activities. 

1838-19?? / Biologist. Julia was born in Lagodekhi, Georgia in 1872,  in the family of famous naturalist Ludvig Mlokosevich. She has contributed to establish the Lagodekhi reserved territories. 

In those years, when Zemfira decided to become a physician, there were no female surgeons among ethnic minorities. Zemfira's statement to become one was a very daring initiative. 

1839-1913 Actress/Phillantropist. 

(closed project) Memorandum of understanding was signed between Heinrich Boell Foundation South Caucasus Regional Office and Tbilisi City Council, which considered development of long-term policy to promote rememberance of women in the public space. 

Heinrich Boell Foundation Sounth Caucasus Regional Office invites you to participate in a contest for discovering lost herstories. 

Russian Nadezhda Suslova became the first female student at the University of Zürich in 1866. Her words: "I am the first, but not the last" had come true. Georgian women also studied in Zürich.
